decorating? I'm going to be decorating my room with black and gold does anyone have any ideas on what I could as far as decorating things? Like for my walls are going to be solid black with gold designs around on the walls. what else could I do with my room?

Can decorating designs from around world work together? I'm decorating my new-ish place and am running into some problems. I love asian design-the fabrics and accessories are really beautiful, although I don't like the spare-ness of the design. I also really love the bright colors and patterns of Indian designs. Because they are quite different, can I have both? How can I put the two together? Does anyone have any good 'net examples? Thanks!

When do YOU start decorating for Fall/Autumn AND Christmas? I absolutely LOVE the Fall season, and I start putting out my fall garlands, pumpkins, and apple cider candles around the last week of August/First Week of September. Also, Christmas is my favorite Holiday, and I start decorating the house in the first week of November. I am curious to know when others begin decorating, and if anyone else loves that time of year as much as I do!

What are some good decorating ideas for a Gothic/Fantasy theme party? It's going to be a dress-up costume theme party. Think dark and dreamy. I need ideas for decorating (not expensive). If you still don't understand the theme, it's like fantasy, only not frilly and girly, more dark and evil. But not necessarily evil, just... dark. I may hav a fog machine I can borrow, or buy if I have to. It's also a dance party, so my basement where the dancing is will be the main focus of the illusionary decorating. I've heard there's a difference between a home designer and a decorator. How would one start out? I am taking classes here and there, but it's not the complete picture. What type of companies would you work or intern for? I'd love to be on the cutting edge of unique and unusual things. This would be my second career in life, so I'd like to do it sooner rather than later. ;) Hence, I love party planning. It's like decorating to me, but you get to be more dramatic and change it often. I've done a few bridal showers and a few parties, but on a small scale. Home cake decorating business: Illegal in many states, but people seem to still do it? How, why? I would love to start a home-based cake decorating/bakery out of my home since I can't afford a store. I discovered running one is illegal here. But I come across a few people who whip out their cake portfolios and try to sell you their services anyway. I'd like to make birthday cakes for maybe friends of friends and just have them pass the word around that I can bake custom cakes. Would you still do it and try to keep it low-key or just forget your dream? The reason it's illegal in GA is because it is food, and that they will then require a seperate building w/ a commercial kitchen, then inspect it. But I have ran across several women in the past who just do this out of their own home anyway.

How do I get window decorating paint off of my actual car? Several years back, I foolishly had the girls on my daughter's field hockey team write their names and their school's emblem on my car with window decorating paint. It came off the windows easily enough, but it just won't come off the paint on my car. I have a huge emblem on the hood of my Ford Explorer and various other smaller things on the sides of my car.
