Interior Decorating Talk

Interior designs?

I moved into an apartment a few months back and the place is still barren. I got a bed and a couch and that's pretty much it. I'm buying new furniture and wanna make the place spruce but I don't know anything about decorating. My question is are there any good free sites with pictures of different designs that I can actually look at? I'm not so much into the idea of learning how to put what together, I just wanna look at some pics for good ideas. I like modern a lot. I'm going for a swanky bachelor pad. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, peeps.

  1. Try looking at interior designs magazines. There are hundreds out there! But the best advise is--if you like it get it!
  2. ask your mother or father or faml. members or friends. everybody are willing to help you
  3. go to Ikea. they have room models and plenty of examples u can mix and match. plus, their style is very modern and hip and i'm sure u u'll find great ideas there. p.s. don't forget to add a little paint to the place. this little touch could go a long way in making it ur ideal B.P.
  4. Less is better, and for a Batch. pad STORAGE SPACE is the key. It keeps your stuff hidden to create a 'clean' look, even when it's not the tidiest. Look for hide-away pieces, and multi-use pieces that when rearranged, suits the use. BETTER HOME & GARDEN is the old stand-by! Take a spin by you local maga zine rack for a few titles, many are on-line too. Don't forget CHAPTERS bookstore as a valuable resource, because some of the new books ther may also be at your local library. Don't forget, you can ask your library to bring it in! Have they published "DECORATING FOR DUMMIES!" yet? There you go.
  5. Interior design has often been the easiest form of self-expression. Somewhere in every person is an interior designer just waiting to jump out. This may seem unrealistic to some but most all forms of design are based in how we want our homes to feel. This brings along with it a picture of what our home is, what function it serves, and how we want to portray ourselves to others. The decorating process remains one of the great mysteries of the average person. How do we create the home we want to invite others into? Many people have said that interior design is the process by which we connect with people, and connect with the world while staying safely within our own space. It is safe to say that through interior design, we connect with some energy, some force, and some thing that expresses who we are and how we want to live. And it is through this connecting process that we have the opportunity to use our homes to effect change in our lives. If we choose, we can become more comfortable or more expressive. Through this process, we can show others how we like to live and invite them to share part of our lives. We can focus on comfort, style, and/or art, truthfully anything we want to express................. Please read more at http://www.interior-designsite.com
  6. First consider your budget and package deals for furniture are great takes all the drama out of it, stick to light furniture as dark furniture is very hard to match with some colour schemes. glass and pewter looks good, and a bed with decent sheets, black and red sceme is striking, or fine blue green stripes for duna cover. any bold geometric design, black and white interlocking squares. Go for a wander around some furniture stores or look online at ones in your area to get some good ideas.
